This is a very interesting and informative document. It is the marriage record of Marie Anne Ariail daughter of Jean-Baptiste Mathias Ariail and his wife Marie Louise Allard. On 11 Feb 1782 when she was married Marie Anne Ariail informed the Priest that both her father and mother were deceased. It is true that her mother was deceased but its obvious that she did not know the whereabouts of her father at the time of her marriage. She thought him to be deceased but we know that he was living in Connecticut at that time and did not pass away until 1800.
