Elizabeth Ann Seymour granddaughter of Lucy Ariail great granddaughter of Jean-Baptiste Mathias Ariail. She was born Apr 7 1828 in Stockbridge Massachusetts and died Jun 10 1908. She married William Wilshire Coffin in Annapolis Parke Indiana and lived out her life there. As you can tell from the dress she became a Quaker. This picture is not very good because it was reproduced from a picture in a history book. Elizabeth Ann Seymour Coffin was a well-known and respected lady in the Annapolis Indiana area. We have letter written by her grandmother Lucy Ariail back in the 1850-1860 time frame and Lucy was very upset that so many of her family had moved so far away from their original home. Lucy was referring to some of these family members especially those who lived in the south as secessionists.
