William Boyd Ariail. William Boyd Ariail is the father of the Ariail Family Reunion President William Keith Ariail. He is also the uncle of The Ariail Family Historian James Wayne Patterson who is the son of Lillie Blanche Ariail. He is also the uncle of Betty Jean Ariail Jackson Secretary of the Association who is the daughter of Kermit Parks Ariail. William Boyd Ariail was a veteran of WW II. He served 4 months as a PVT Field Artillery Basic Training (521); 7 months PVT Gun Crewman Medium Artillery (864) and 16 months TEC4 Cook (060). His service number 34-971-806 resided at Box 381 Maysville Banks Georgia. Date of entry into active service 8 Mar 1944; date of separation 4 Jul 1946; date of birth 6 Feb 1916. Place of separation center Fort Bragg N.C. Summary of Military Occupation Cook. Served as first cook with 178th Field Artillery and 10th Port Company in Italy. Prepared seasoned cooked and served food for 400 enlisted men. Had also worked in transient consolidation messes feeding 3 000 men. Used gasoline field ranges for cooking. Understood and practices the regulations governing kitchen sanitation. Boyd Ariail completed the 7th grade of school in Franklin County Georgia. His civilian occupation was: Meat Cutter II. Was employed by P H Wright Commerce Ga. In a retail grocery store from 1943 to 1944. Butchered carcasses of beef pork and lamb into small pieces. Used electric powered meat grinder and electric slicer. The late son of William Boyd Ariail James Thomas Ariail followed in his fathers footsteps. He served as a RD2 (E-5) and transferred from the Navy to the Naval Reserve U.S. NATECHTRACEN Glynco Georgia. His Terminal Date of Reserve Obligation was 20 Sep 1967. He received an Honorable discharge and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal for service ending 20 Sep 1965.
