James Leland Ariail

James Leland Ariail. He was the great grandson of Jean Baptiste Mathias Ariail. He was born May 25 1849 and died Nov 28 1902. He was the father of 11 children. He had five brothers in the Civil War 3 died in the war 1 was wounded at Gettysburgh Pa. fighting against his cousin Phineas Dunham and one was a POW in Kentucky. He had one sister Mary Climelia Ariail whose son lost his life in WWI in the Argonne Forest in France. I realize that this is not the only family who paid a tremendous price in shaping our country but the family of William Harrison Ariail did their part and we must respect them for their dedication to the cause they chose to support.
