Left picture is marker for Elmer Reid, son of Stephen C. Reid from the Sarah Jane Ariail line. Right picture is of new marker for the military stone for Harvey Orlando Ariail, son of Luke Ives Ariail. There is a long story behind this individual some of which I will relate here. He was a Civil War Veteran and married to a woman named Hulah C. The family story goes that he was discharged from the army in Richmond and disappeared on his way home. After extensive research, it was found that he in fact died in the hospital at Richmond. Then it was the matter of where he was interred. In working with the people who are in charge of the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, it was found that he was interred under the wrong name. The Ariail Cemetery Committee then requested a new military marker for him, and the picture you see is that marker. Harvey can now rest in peace knowing that his relatives know where he is interred. Harvey left no children and what happened to his wife Hulah is not known.
