Both top and bottom pictures are monuments erected to the Confederate soldiers who were killed at the ‘Battle of the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Virginia’ and buried in a mass grave. Samuel Albert Ariail, son of William Harrison Ariail died in that battle and is probably buried here.
