Top picture is of the family plot of John Milton Ariail, his wife Narcissa E. “Northy” Hendricks Ariail and his son William Harrison Ariail. This entire family plot has been beautifully repaired and cleaned under the direction of the Ariail Cemetery Committee. Most of the funds for this project were donated by David Ariail in North Carolina and Peggy Marie Ariail Bridges of North Carolina. The Family Plot is in the Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville, Georgia. John Milton Ariail fought in the Civil War at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania as a Confederate soldier. His cousin, Phineas Dunham, from the Minnesota Regiment also fought against John in this battle. John Milton Ariail and his cousin were both wounded. John Milton Ariail healed and returned home but unfortunately, Phineas Dunham died from this wound and is interred in the Minnesota Regiment cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Bottom picture is that of the family plot for Omer Gilbert Ariail and his wife Annie Marion Payne Ariail. Omer is the son of Omer Manson Ariail.
