This is a very interesting picture and one of historical significance. From left to right Lt. Col. Doyce Ariail President of the Ariail Reunion Association for many years Virginia Ariail Effie Leo Ariail and James Patterson Historian. Lt. Col. Doyce Ariail served his country with pride and distinction for many years. While he was in Vietnam he lost his 1st wife in an automobile accident. By an act of God all four of his sons survived the accident. Next to him is Virginia Ariail a very gifted pianist. Then her first cousin Effie Leo Ariail who lost her husband while he was in Norfolk Virginia during World War II. Effie never remarried. Then next is the Historian James Patterson. He served his country for 20 years in the Navy in the Intelligence Field. It should be noted that Virginia Ariail and Effie Leo Ariail were 1st cousins and did not know of each other until we found Effie Leo Ariail. Virginia was born in 1906 and Effie was born in 1909. At the time they first met they were 91 and 88 years old. What a touching and wonderful reunion that turned out to be. All three of the persons Lt. Col. Doyce Ariail Virginia Ariail and Effie Leo Ariail have since passed away.
